“Waste not want not” is taken to an entirely new level in a new exhibit, Waste Not, by Chinese artist Song Dong, which is now on display at New York’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Song Dong’s installation displays forty years of his mother’s saved (or should we say horded) items: birdcages and bottle caps, jump ropes and toothpaste tubes, mittens and bowls, which begs the viewer to question consumerism, attachment, and loss.
The New Yorker reports:
“The Chinese artist Song Dong keeps a daily diary in water on stone. Why …

Japanese brand Frapbois gets together with New Balance on the 996. They gave the classic running shoe a polka dot upper mixed with reflective panels on the logo and around the ankle. The mid-sole and a small dot above the laces come in red, which mark nice accents on the otherwise black/white sneaker.- Highsnobiety

The Marshall Artist Autumn/Winter 2009 collection is an eclectic mix of styles that marks a new direction for the brand, while at the same time drawing on a decade of developed MA style. The range boasts solid knitwear, denim and strong tailoring as well as great basic jersey and fleece pieces. The outerwear is what caught our eye, with traditional silhouettes ranging from heavy winter parkas in waxed canvas and vintage washed tailored suiting in autumnal tones. Winterweight lumberjack shirts and washed canvas shirts are also of note. Available in the coming weeks.-Highsnobiety
This past weekend Swagger celebrated their 10th anniversary in Tokyo. For the occasion they had The Cool Kids, Mickey Factz and Lupe Fiasco perform live. Of course they also made some limited edition product for the party occasion. A special commemorative t-shirt and party towel have been released and are now also available through choiceisyours.
Todd Bratrud’s third Nike SB Dunk High peeked out of the shadows right around the time of Debacle’s HD release. In these new shots, we can get a much better look at the key design element. The ‘Brainwreck’ Nike SB Dunk High sports a grey suede upper with a lighter shade of leather on the toe and Swooshes. A light grey midsole and pink outsole allow this simple palette to give birth to ‘BRAIN’ on the heel (possibly ‘BRAIN’ ‘WRECK’, though it’s impossible to tell if these photos are both the left foot). -Warped
Celebrity Feet: Jay Z Kanye West x Louis Vuitton Dons Grey
Jay-Z was spotted in Los Angeles this past weekend eating at what seems like is his favorite restaraunt in LA, Katsuya, where he was seen leaving in a pair of fresh Kanye West x Louis Vuitton Louis Vuitton Don’s in Grey and White. The last time we reported on Jay-Z and his “celebrity feet” he was also seen leaving Katsuya in LA only with a pair of Nike x Kanye West Air Yeezy’s on. This time the lonely Jay-Z left the restaraunt after filming his new video for his second single, Run This Town, which features Rihanna and Kanye West. via CONCRETELOOP
